Dear Colleagues,
Due to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainties that remain on the possibilities to travel and organize events with a significant number of participants, the Organizing Committee of the 39-th International Workshop on Nuclear Theory (IWNT) in Rila Mountains, Bulgaria, decided to cancel the meeting planned for 23-29 August 2020 and to postpone it by one year.
Therefore, the 39-th edition of the Workshop is now planned to take place from the 4-th of July (arrival day) to 10-th of July (departure day) 2021 in the Rila Mountains, Bulgaria. For further information and actualizations, please follow the IWNT-Rila workshop web page http://ntl.inrne.bas.bg/workshop/.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Rila next year 2021.

We are thankful to all colleagues who have registered and submitted their abstracts for the 39-th International Workshop on Nuclear Theory in Rila Mountains, Bulgaria, as well as to all who informed us about their interest to participate.
With this letter we have to inform you that related to the current COVID-19 situation the Workshop will be postponed. Considering the present development of the situation we plan to hold it from 23-rd (arrival) to 29-th (departure) of August 2020. Still, this plan depends on the further development, therefore, please follow the information posted on the IWNT-Rila workshop web page http://ntl.inrne.bas.bg/workshop/2020/ as well as our further e-mail communication.

First Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Thirty Ninth International Workshop on Nuclear Theory we are pleased to invite you to participate in the Workshop. It will be held between 5-th of July (arrival day) and 11-th of July (departure day) 2020 in the Rila Mountains, Bulgaria.
The International Workshop on Nuclear Theory (IWNT) is annually organized since 1980 by the Nuclear Theory Laboratory (NTL) of the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Proceedings of the Workshop will be published.
The aim of the Workshop is to provide an international forum for exchange of ideas, discussions and collaboration between researchers in nuclear physics and related areas. The program of IWNT39-2020 is expected to include the most recent theoretical and experimental advances in the field covering the following topics:
- nuclear structure and reactions;
- nuclear equation of state and symmetry energy;
- symmetries and dynamics;
- collective and intrinsic motions of nuclei;
- exotic nuclei;
- few-body and many-fermion systems;
- nuclear astrophysics and related topics.
The venue of the Workshop is Hotel Lion in Borovetz Resort (http://borovetz.hotelslion.bg/). Borovetz is one of the biggest mountain resorts in Bulgaria. It is located at an elevation of 1300 m on the northern slopes of Rila Mountains, some 70 km away from Sofia.
The Workshop fee is 450 EUR (350 EUR for students and accompanying persons). It covers the participation fee, 6 days full board, accommodation, the social program, travel expenses from Sofia to Rila Mountains and back and the Proceedings book of the Workshop.
In addition to the oral presentations, a poster session will be organized. Five minute presentations of the posters with a few slides will be included in the program.
If you would like to participate in the Workshop and give a talk or present a poster, please inform us by 10-th of April 2020. An abstract of the talk/poster (up to 1 page written in LaTeX sample) should be sent to the Workshop e-mail given below by 10-th of April 2020.
