XXVIII International Workshop on Nuclear Theory
Rila Mountains, Bulgaria

The Twenty Eight International Workshop on Nuclear Theory took place from 21 to 26 June 2009 in the Rila Mountains, Bulgaria.
The key topics of the program were:
nucleon-nucleon correlation effects on nuclear structure and reactions; symmetries in nuclear physics; exotic nuclei and few-body systems; advanced studies of many-fermion systems; nuclear astrophysics and related topics.
They are mainly linked to the problems contained in the research plan of the Nuclear Theory Laboratory of the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
About forty physicists, coming from Bulgaria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Rumania, Russia, South Africa and USA participated in the Workshop. During the talks given by experienced scientists and short presentations of young researchers new results of nuclear theory and experiment as well as achievements of fruitful collaborations were discussed. By good tradition the Rila meeting was an occasion to initiate new research projects and make future plans. The Workshop was also an excellent opportunity for young scientists and students in friendly and relaxed atmosphere to study physics and work on their communication skills.
