The Thirty Ninth International Workshop on Nuclear Theory (IWNT-39) was held from 3-rd to 9-th of July 2022 in Rila Mountains, Bulgaria.
The main topics of the program were:
nuclear structure and reactions;
nuclear equation of state and symmetry energy;
nucleon correlations in nuclei;
symmetries and dynamics;
collective and intrinsic motions of nuclei;
exotic nuclei;
few-body and many-fermion systems;
nuclear astrophysics and related topics.
They are related to the problems contained in the research plan of the Nuclear Theory Laboratory of the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the
Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The Workshop was attended by 52 participants (including the organizers) from 14 countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Morocco, Pakistan,
Poland, Republic of Korea, Russia, Spain, Turkiye, USA. The scientific program contained totally 42 oral talks (26 of them remote) and 2 poster presentations.
The Workshop proved once more time itself as a fruitful ground for exchanging ideas not only between nuclear physics scientists from different fields and institutions,
but also between the experienced scientists and the new comming generation of young physicists. During IWNT-39 a number of young scientists and students were introduced
to real scientific activities including the newest trends in the experimental and theoretical nuclear physics as well as in the prospective related fields of research
providing them a variety of ideas for possible career development.
The beautiful mountain nature and the friendly atmosphere at the Workshop provided a nice opportunity for direct communication between participants.
We were able to realize our full social program with a walking excursion to Tsarska Bistritsa, a former royal palace, situated just above the Borovetz
Resort and near the banks of the Bistritsa River.
The Organizers would like to thank all participants for their contribution to the success of the Workshop.

The Fortieth Anniversary International Workshop on Nuclear Theory will be held from 2-nd to 8-th of July 2023 in Borovetz, Rila Mountains.
